Infrared Perspective of San Diego Old Town & Bahia Hotel

Infrared Perspective of San Diego’s Old Town & Bahia Hotel. Digital Infrared Photography is still in its infancy and offers the viewer a different perspective. Even though the images look like the old Black & White photographs. Digital Infrared Photography captures light waves in the “Near Infrared” wavelength (700nm to 1000nm), and is invisible to the human eye!

Infrared has its application in the Photographic Arts as well as Forensic applications. In Forensic application, Digital Infrared Photography can reveal blood stains against dark substrates, deep bruising on dark skin, injuries and/or tattoos on dark/black decomposing and/or mummified skin. Digital Infrared Photography can also be used to see Gunshot Residue on almost any substrate (i.e. cloth, skin), as long as the surface is dry. Traditional Forensic usages of Forensic film-based Infrared Photography have been applied to Questioned Documents. None of these JPEG Infrared images have been post processed! They were taken with a Prototype Fuji S9000 camera modified for IR. Prost processing will further enhance the visible detail and increase the contrast ranges, which will be done as time permits.

Images were taken in B & W, but could have been taken in color mode just as easily. However, color images look very flat and uninteresting without post processing. Colors can be introduced into the images during the post processing, which can make them look very impressive.

May 02, 2005 Stan's Photos trip from Stillwater to Coyle

pics of motorcycles west of Stillwater on 51, Langston University from hilltop 1 mile north on Coyle Road off of 33 highway, new road construction between hill west of Coyle and Coyle Road north of the Cimarron river, the two bridges, Coyle downtown, and some shots in Langston. If you look behind the post office picture in Langston, the darker one, you will see the corner of the first new business in Langston in years and years, a Dollar Store of sorts...
There are pics of the shots I took at the two auctions on Saturday at http://www.pickensauctions.com and then look for the news, and you will find them. The site is under construction so forgive the mess... ahaha... later stan
